BIO
Ernesto Ortiz is a stand-up comedian, actor, storyteller, and yarn artist whose comedy thrives at the intersection of being queer, Chicano, and perpetually single (Zac Efron, take note—he’s available). Born to migrant workers in Oregon and raised in the West Phoenix neighborhood of Maryvale, Ernesto weaves his unapologetic, quick-witted humor into stories that resonate across cultures and communities. His comedy is more than just laughs—it’s a tool for unity, embracing the hilarity of shared experiences while celebrating identity.
Seen on Mas Locos on Latino Circuit TV, PureFlix, and in national commercial campaigns for Conn’s Home Plus and Cable One, Ernesto has made a name for himself with his likable, sharp comedic style. He was recently crowned the 2025 Funniest Comic in the Valley – People’s Choice Award Winner. As the producer of Qué Funny!, a showcase of Latin comedians at the Peoria Center for the Arts, he continues to uplift and amplify underrepresented voices in the comedy scene.
When he’s not on stage, you might find Ernesto crafting something unexpected with his yarn artistry—because who says stand-up and crochet don’t mix?
